The Outcomes of Conflict

There are in general five basic behavior responses that constitute the outcomes of conflict:

1.     avoidance - when both or one of the two parts in an advisory relationship start avoiding the other person by ignoring tasks and interactions

2.     adjustment - when either the potential entrepreneur of the business advisor gives in to the situation and steps back in order to avoid further conflict

3.     compromise - when both parts make adjustments in order to find a common point of reference

4.     competence - when both parts force each other to satisfy their own aims

5.     collaboration - when both parts works towards the solving of the problem and the resolving of the initial conflict.
